The Abbey of Saint Godelieve

After they fled their countryside convent in 1586, afraid of rampant robbery, the Benedictine sisters continued their closed convent tradition within the safety of the Bruges city walls. Until late december 2013, Saint Godelieve Abbey has served as their treasured silent retreat.
